Overview
Stratum Networks is a rapidly growing information assurance and cybersecurity solutions company that provides high-end network and security consulting to Department of Defense and Intelligence Community clients. We are looking for a skilled Level 1 Hardware Technician to support one of our clients located in the Annapolis Junction, MD area. Candidates must have an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph to be considered for the position.
Job Description: IT Field Support Specialist - Imaging
Utilize MDT servers to deploy the latest computer image to new and recycled computers.
- Fulfills equipment requests for newly imaged workstations according to daily work priorities.
- Configures computers, communications devices and peripheral equipment.
- Trains site personnel in proper use of imaging tools.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and test computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment.
- Install and configure computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment and associated cabling.
- Maintain government and/or vendor‑manufactured fiber optic modems, multiplexer, fiber optic/Ethernet cables & telephone systems.
- Ensures image benches are operational. If operational status is lost, alert the proper management team.
Salary and Benefits
Salary: $31,000–$71,000 depending on experience and contract.
Excellent benefits package, including up to 3 weeks paid vacation, 11 paid holidays, immediate eligibility for health care (single and family) and a 401(k) plan with employer match.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education
Minimum education and experience level: High school/GED and four (4) years of experience AND 8570 Certification. Preferred Security +.
- Highly skilled in installing, repairing and troubleshooting computer hardware and peripherals.
- Well‑versed in installing Windows, software, applications, antivirus and patches.
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
- Proficient in working with end‑users remotely.
- Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Windows 7 and 10.
- Familiar with Active Directory security and policies.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Outstanding communication skills to relate with team members and support workers.
- Must be able to drive a company vehicle and lift 50 lbs.
- Must be available to work an 8‑hour shift between the hours of 6 am and 6 pm, as determined by management.
Required Clearance: Candidate must have a TS/SCI polygraph clearance.
