Physician & Executive Recruitment Leader, Builder, and Strategist | AVP | Human Resources Executive
CORE JOB SUMMARY
The Executive Recruiter leads the full-cycle recruitment of senior leaders (Associate Vice President level and above) across the University of Miami and the UHealth System (UHealth). Partnering with the AVP of Physician and Executive Recruitment and other key executives, this role designs and drives enterprise-wide search strategies, identifies and attracts exceptional leaders, and guides candidates through selection, offer, and onboarding. The Executive Recruiter also provides market intelligence, compensation insights, and search best practices to ensure the University secures top executive talent.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
- Lead enterprise-wide executive searches from role discovery and position design through research, sourcing, assessment, offer negotiation, and transition/onboarding support.
- Partner with senior leadership and HR to define role requirements, develop compelling position profiles, and design search strategies and diverse candidate pipelines aligned with the University’s mission and values.
- Source top talent directly and via search partners, leveraging market mapping, professional networks, industry associations, social platforms, and proactive outreach to attract highly qualified, diverse leaders.
- Present and advise on candidate slates, providing market intelligence, compensation insights, and closing strategies to guide informed, competitive selection decisions.
- Cultivate and manage relationships with external search firms, overseeing contracts, performance, and cost optimization when vendor support is engaged.
- Ensure an exceptional candidate and stakeholder experience throughout the hiring process, overseeing offers, background checks, and onboarding of senior leaders.
- Track and analyze key search metrics, providing actionable market insights and recruitment analytics to inform workforce planning and leadership decisions.
- Champion innovation and best practices in executive recruitment and onboarding; recommend and implement new tools, resources, and approaches to elevate the search function.
- Deliver data-driven reporting and strategic insights to senior leadership, synthesizing market research and recruitment outcomes to inform high-impact talent decisions.
- Leverage technology and market intelligence platforms to enhance sourcing strategies and recruitment analytics.
- Model exceptional communication, service, and problem-solving while maintaining strict compliance and confidentiality in all search activities, adhering to employment laws, University policies, and safeguarding sensitive information and assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Certification and Licensing
Professional in Human Resources (PHR/SPHR), SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, or equivalent certification preferred but not required. Search firm or executive recruiting certifications (e.g., AESC, AIRS) a plus.
Experience
7+ years of executive recruitment experience, ideally within complex, matrixed organizations or higher education/academic medicine.
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes
- Proven ability to build and influence relationships with C-suite leaders and search committees.
- Strong market research, sourcing, and closing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; high discretion and professionalism.
