Job Summary

The HR Generalist plays a vital role in supporting the daily functions of the Human Resources department, including employee relations, compliance, policy updates, process streamlining, and other critical HR functions. This position ensures HR processes run smoothly and aligns with company policies and legal requirements while fostering a positive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a point of contact for inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, attendance, payroll related assistance, and other workplace matters.
  • Assist with workers’ compensation incidents.
  • Maintain employee information with daily maintenance and reports in the HRIS system.
  • Assist with employee lifecycle processing (new hires, retirements, separations).
  • Participates in organizing employee engagement events and activities to foster a positive work environment.
  • Auditing and reconciliation of various reports and HR related billings.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws (EEO, FMLA, FLSA, OSHA, etc.).
  • Maintain employee records in accordance with confidentiality and data protection regulations.
  • Assist in the education and enforcement of HR policies and procedures.
  • Other critical HR tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • 5 years of HR experience in a generalist role required.
  • HR certification (PHR or SHRM-CP) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of California HR laws and regulations.
  • Strong technical skills, including experience with HRIS software and databases.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Accuracy oriented while being attentive to the smallest details.
  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in high volume environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
