Role Purpose

The Plant HR Consultant partners with plant leadership and employees to deliver HR solutions that drive operational effectiveness, employee engagement, and compliance. This role serves as a trusted advisor, supporting workforce planning, talent development, employee relations, and change initiatives aligned with plant and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports the plant HR manager to ensure that the plant has the right talent to execute the plant’s strategy and achieve desired business results.
  • Serve as an HR contact for plant management and employees providing guidance on HR policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies to ensure the plant attracts and retains top talent.
  • Advise on employee relations issues, conduct investigations, and resolve conflicts to foster a positive work environment.
  • Implement and monitor compliance with labor laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Facilitate training and development programs to upskill plant employees and support career growth.
  • Partner with plant leadership on organizational change, workforce planning, and performance management.
  • Analyze HR metrics (e.g., turnover, engagement, absenteeism) and recommend targeted actions.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives at the plant level.
  • Lead or support special HR projects as needed.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or plant environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience with HRIS and data‑driven decision making.
  • Hands‑on self‑starter, capable of juggling multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, allowing for communication across entire organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership and coaching skills.
  • Ability to foster change and promote and implement improvement.
  • Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet)

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • Master’s degree in related area and/or HR certifications desired, but not required
  • Applied Six Sigma, Lean or Kaizen experience.
  • Ability to communicate cross‑functionally
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Tactfully communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to display and support of the Corning Values

Salary

The range for this position is $79,519.00 - $109,339.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job‑related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
