Project Coordinator (Part-time)

Pamlico Community College is seeking a highly organized, forward-thinking project coordinator to support campus-wide initiatives, monitor project timelines, assist with grant deliverables, and keep our teams moving in the right direction. This position reports directly to the President and works collaboratively across departments, playing a key role in ensuring institutional projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with PCC-level excellence. The role is a part-time permanent position, working 30 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day activities for assigned projects, including scheduling, communication, logistics, and documentation.
  • Track timelines, deliverables, budgets, and milestones; follow up with leadership to ensure progress.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation (agendas, minutes, reports, dashboards).
  • Assist with grant compliance reporting, including collecting data and preparing status updates.
  • Communicate regularly with faculty, staff, and external partners.
  • Support events, training, and outreach related to project goals. Identify potential roadblocks, propose solutions, and elevate issues when needed.
  • Maintain organized digital files and project records following PCC and NCCCS standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the project and the College.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should hold at least an associate degree (bachelor's preferred) and bring experience in project coordination, administrative support, or similar roles—ideally within higher education or grant-funded environments.
  • Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and professional communication skills (written and verbal) are essential.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AI platforms, and basic data or spreadsheet tools is required.
  • Successful candidates will be proactive, adaptable, able to work independently and collaboratively, and capable of handling confidential information with discretion.
  • Experience with NCCCS processes, grant reporting, or project management software is a plus.
