Growing civil engineering firm located in Corpus Christi needs a Water Wastewater, PE to join their team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering from an ABET‑accredited program
  • 6+ years of related experience in water/wastewater
  • State of Texas PE license required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interface with clients, contractors and regulatory agencies
  • Excellent technical writing skills for use in development of engineering reports and studies
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Highly self‑motivated, able to anticipate and initiate subsequent project tasks, working independently or with minimal instruction
  • Able to work efficiently within a predetermined project budget and schedule
  • Strong organizational skills, and ability to function efficiently within a project team environment
  • Relocation is required if not local to Corpus Christi; relocation assistance is available

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers in managing and mentoring teams, coordinating schedules, monitoring budgets, and ensuring the delivery of quality products that adhere to company standards.
  • Take projects from conceptual planning to bid‑ready documents, including design calculations, management and coordination of support discipline and sub‑consultant activities, coordination with regulatory agencies, and quality assurance and control.
  • Water and wastewater treatment plant planning, analysis and design.
  • Improvements and retrofitting of existing treatment facilities.
  • Owner’s technical advisor program.
  • Water distribution system planning, analysis and design, including pumping and storage.
  • Wastewater collection system planning, analysis and design, including lift stations.
  • Assistance with master planning, hydraulic modeling, condition assessments, and capacity evaluations.
  • Management of construction phase services.
  • Managing the budget and schedule for multiple engineering projects.
  • Serve as the Engineer of Record and technical lead for his/her own projects, in most cases.
  • Communicate with clients, sub‑consultants, contractors, and other professionals as required for the completion of the project.
  • Assist Project Manager with development of project scopes of work, budgets, and schedules based on initial feedback from the client, and negotiation of any revisions and/or changes to the work during the course of the project.
  • Assist Project Manager in the daily and weekly allocation of junior engineering and production staff on assigned projects.
  • Assist Project Manager with overseeing and coordinating the activities of the project team.
  • Prepare and/or review technical engineering specifications and cost estimates; coordination with in‑house construction administration staff.
  • Provide feedback to junior engineering staff on standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
