Accounting Manager
INSPYR Solutions is partnered with a growing company in Sugar Land that is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join its corporate accounting leadership team. This role will oversee critical close and reporting activities, manage a team of accounting professionals, and play a key role in strengthening processes, controls, and technical accounting practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the monthly close process, including review and approval of journal entries and reconciliations
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting team members, including goal‑setting and performance management
- Coordinate internal and external financial reporting, including management reporting and financial statement preparation
- Ensure accounting records and practices comply with U.S. GAAP, internal policies, and applicable regulatory requirements
- Maintain and enhance internal controls to support accurate and reliable financial data
- Conduct technical accounting research and provide guidance on new or evolving accounting standards
- Partner cross‑functionally with finance, IT, treasury, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and alignment
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to accounting operations and the close process
- Own and oversee the account reconciliation framework
- Assist with audit activities, including interim and annual audits
- Participate in due diligence and accounting support for mergers and acquisitions, including purchase accounting
- Support regulatory‑related financial filings and special reporting requirements
- Lead documentation and ongoing maintenance of accounting policies and procedures
- Take on special projects and ad hoc initiatives as requested by senior leadership
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- Master’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
Experience
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Experience in complex, multi‑entity or regulated environments strongly preferred
- Prior people management or team leadership experience desired
- Background in public accounting is a plus
Technical Skills
- Experience with large ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office tools
Certifications
- CPA license required
