Overview
Perform a variety of complex administrative support and clerical responsibilities for the assigned program and Director. Receive supervision within a framework of standard policies and procedures. Use initiative and exercise judgment in the application and follow-through of administrative decisions, duties and assignments; interpret policies and procedures for the assigned program. Public relations and people skills are required. Maintain accurate records and files, type a variety of material including forms and reports. Process purchase orders, collect time sheets, comp time and mileage forms. Receive, review and route all mail or correspondence. Compile and organize information for the preparation of reports as assigned. Compose memos & correspondence as needed for the assigned program. Prepare and maintain a variety of lists and databases. Contact schools and agencies regarding student information. Provide work direction to other clerical personnel. Order material & supplies and distribute as needed. Make phone calls and office calls independently. Mail a variety of forms and materials to parents and schools. Arrange and coordinate district, school and community activities related to assigned programs. Coordinate various district, city, county, regional and state services as directed. Act as receptionist, answer telephone, provide information and set up appointments. Type letters or training material in English and/or Spanish. Arrange appointments, schedule itineraries, and maintain a detailed calendar for the appropriate program. Perform related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Valid California driver's license
- Valid First Aid and CPR certificate may be required
- Typing certificate of 50 WPM
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalency
- One year of clerical or office experience preferred
