Skills and Experience

  • Managing a large hourly team and a tier of leaders
  • Recruiting, selecting, and planning talent across all departments
  • Guest service fundamentals and building a guest‑first culture
  • Retail financials (payroll, profit and loss) and driving sales growth
  • Creating store‑specific strategies and managing the team to deliver results
  • Understanding sales trends, inventory management, guest shopping patterns, pricing, and promotions strategy
  • Setting and planning quarterly business priorities and managing the team to deliver on sales goals
  • Making business decisions based on market competition, guest insights, and feedback

Typical Responsibilities

  • Cultivate a guest‑centric, engaged team
  • Lead a talent culture through onboarding, development, and growth of leaders
  • Drive accountability through clear expectations and performance management
  • Partner with HR to deliver equitable talent strategies and team growth
  • Be approachable and available to resolve issues quickly
  • Recruit, hire, and retain a passionate team with area‑specific expertise
  • Oversee scheduling to meet business needs while aligning with team member availability
  • Implement leadership schedules that meet guest and business needs (including weekends, evenings, overnight, and seasonals)
  • Promote inclusivity, value diverse voices, and create equitable experiences
  • Invest in and follow up on training to achieve timely completion
  • Model a welcoming experience by greeting guests while working and engaging when assistance is needed
  • Lead by thanking guests and acknowledging their choice to shop at Target
  • Balance in‑store and digital guest experience to achieve sales and operational goals
  • Build and execute efficient operations to fund future growth
  • Leverage operational data to drive decisions and maintain financial accountability
  • Leverage field support partners to solve problems and drive continuous improvement
  • Own safety culture, recognizing safe behaviors, correcting hazards, and responding to incidents
  • Validate in‑store security culture through deterrence, response, and resolution
  • Follow safe and secure training, address emergency and compliance needs, and uphold ethical conduct

Requirements

  • Access all building areas to respond to guest or team member issues
  • Interpret instructions, reports, and information
  • Accurately handle cash register operations as needed
  • Climb up and down ladders as needed
  • Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including lifting or moving up to 44 pounds without assistance
  • Capable of working in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing job duties (e.g., Drive‑Up, carry‑out)
  • Remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary)
  • Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays) and reliable attendance necessary
