* Supervises effective delivery of logistical services for all BSD campus buildings.* Administers, implements, and enforces effective policies and procedures with the BSD-FS union clerk staff; including staff scheduling based on business needs in collaboration with the BSD-FS Director of Plant and Facility Operations.* Manages KCBD loading dock space to create a safe and organized workplace environment.* Manages package receipt and delivery activities for the BSD campus buildings, including lost/misplaced packages and tanks. Directly supervises BSD-FS union clerk staff.* Maintain and provide equipment necessary for completing dock activities (e.g. forklift, delivery vehicles). This includes monitoring staff usage of equipment, and scheduling maintenance service for equipment as needed.* Coordinate equipment disposal service in collaboration with departmental/divisional groups.* Collaborate with BSD Building Management group on scheduling BSD-FS staff for events scheduled in BSD space.* Monitor and report package/tank delivery services via internal logistics system (QTrak).* Track and manage BSD-FS union clerk staff administrative needs including safety training compliance, attendance, and interdisciplinary action.* Perform financial purchasing activities on behalf of BSD-FS team (including BSD-FS Building Management) for needed office items, dock equipment, invoices for contractual services.* Perform dock tasks on an as-needed basis.* Maintains shipping and receiving activities and records. Resolves related shipping, receiving, and distribution problems. Coordinates with vendors and Budget to ensure that quality and pricing of supplies and equipment meet expectations.* Hires, evaluates, and conducts performance evaluations. Plans and assigns work; exercises quality and quantity controls.* Responsible for daily operation and regular maintenance of shipping & receiving equipment; authorizes purchase of operating necessities; determines need and orders repair service.* Collaborates with manager regarding building management and maintenance. Places and monitors work requests. Supervises projects, and serves as liaison to central facilities staff and outside contractors.* Performs other related work as needed.* Knowledge and skills developed through 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.* Management of union employees.* Work with Faculty, Executive Administrators, and or Plant department.* Completion of advanced job-related education or designation programs, such as OSHA 10 or 30-hour card.* Completion of facilities/dock related certificate or designation programs, e.g. CDL (Commercial Driver License), forklift certification.When applying, the document(s) **MUST** be uploaded via the **My Experience** page, in the section titled **Application Documents** of the application.The University of Chicago is an urban research university that has driven new ways of thinking since 1890.
