This position is with the Office of Administration Division of Facilities Management, Design, and Construction (OA‑FMDC) supporting the Operations Team. OA‑FMDC is committed to strengthening the State’s investments while providing a safe and secure environment through innovative design solutions and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities & Qualifications
- Prioritize excellent customer service for a wide and diverse network of internal and external stakeholders, including internal teams, state agencies, state officials, contractors, and the public.
- Complete skilled work within one or more specialized trade areas.
- Apply trade‑specific knowledge to troubleshooting, repair and remediation tasks.
- Perform work relating to electrical, HVAC, electronics, carpentry, concrete and masonry, welding, plumbing, and/or painting.
- Engage in heavy lifting, manual labor, and operate machinery and heavy equipment per project needs.
- Carry state‑issued cell phone during work shift and respond promptly to urgent texts, calls, voicemails, chat messages, and emails when off‑shift.
- Answer emergency calls and occasionally travel to other facilities for coverage and assistance.
- Provide coverage at state facilities after hours and for emergency purposes (severe weather, snow removal, water leaks, fire, etc.) to ensure facilities and grounds are maintained and cleared.
- Follow all OA‑FMDC health and safety protocols in addition to OSHA standards.
- Communicate, collaborate and lead with integrity to inspire trust and build positive rapport with stakeholders and the public.
- Plan, manage, and direct numerous time‑sensitive projects independently or as part of a team using applicable procedures, processes, regulations, and practices.
- Comprehend, analyze and interpret complex technical documentation to solve problems and provide options for resolution.
- Have 3‑5 years of on‑the‑job training in a trade area.
- Have experience operating and maintaining various equipment and tools.
- Discern skill set needed for projects and determine whether work can be completed in‑house or by a contractor.
- Adopt a safety‑first mindset with considerable knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions (OSHA 10 and/or 30 preferred, FMDC can provide if needed).
- Exhibit excellent time management, organizational, planning, and communication skills.
- Maintain excellent attendance, work ethic, attention to detail, conflict management, and critical thinking skills.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver license from Missouri or an adjacent state if residing outside Missouri.

Successful background check results are required for employment in this position. This may include checks involving a candidate’s name and/or fingerprints and other screenings as needed. Authorization to work in the United States is a prerequisite of employment. The Office of Administration will not sponsor applicants for work visas.
Physical Demands
- This position is physically demanding. Examples of job duties include prolonged periods of walking/standing/sitting/bending/driving, climbing ladders, lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds, working in inclement weather, and working on uneven or elevated surfaces. The position is classified as Category 2 under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), meaning the incumbent will be compensated for overtime at time and a half.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the selected individual or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation.
