JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Director of Digital Production Management is responsible for proactive resource management, forecasting, and division-wide reporting to drive a critical portfolio of UDX Marketing and guest experience projects. Acting as the primary point of contact for Agile production teams, this role ensures effective stakeholder engagement, prioritization, estimation, and strategic alignment across Business, Marketing, and Technology. By implementing program‑management best practices and managing scope, schedule, risk, and dependencies, the Assistant Director provides clear visibility into project status and resource allocation. Leading a team of production managers and project managers, the Assistant Director promotes operational excellence, continuous improvement, and alignment to organizational goals.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Portfolio Management
- Act as point of contact for stakeholders for Agile Production teams and provide high‑level stakeholder reporting.
- Direct a critical portfolio of projects & programs in support of UDX Marketing and guest experience, ensuring playbooks and templates meet channel needs.
- Identify and execute process improvements and best practices across commercial operations to support delivery excellence.
- Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to achieve a robust and sustainable governance model.
- Provide accurate and timely estimation integrated into D&T value stream and M&S workflows.
Program Management
- Provide overall leadership to commercial operations structure, approach, and reporting. Work broadly across Business, Marketing, and Technology to implement best‑practice management structures and processes.
- Drive successful scope and schedule management to hit key milestones and timelines across projects/programs.
- Support and lead Agile and waterfall methodologies where appropriate based on project/program scope.
- Oversee risk, dependency management, and mitigation tracking, including issue identification and risk assessment.
- Develop, track, analyze, and publish project and financial reports, scorecards, and program/project status and performance reports to create transparency, measurability, and accountability.
Leadership
- Build and lead a high‑performing team of project managers, program managers, business analysts, and scrum masters to achieve operational excellence and exceed goals.
- Lead and mentor direct reports/team members in day‑to‑day management and administration of UDX transformation work.
- Provide clear decision‑making priority management.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following UO policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
- Undergraduate degree (required) in marketing, technology, analytics or related fields.
- MBA or equivalent master’s degree (preferred).
EXPERIENCE
- 9+ years in PMO, progressive transformation and digital/marketing enablement.
- Preferred: Project management certification (PMI or similar) and/or certification in specific methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, Agile, etc.
- Preferred: PMI Certification; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Expert knowledge of large‑scale transformation initiatives.
- Experience in project team leadership and large‑scale program planning and implementation.
- Expert at stakeholder and partner management.
- Experience in executive communication, relationship building and decision making.
- Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills, and ability to explain complex concepts concisely.
- Proven ability to maintain a high level of client service.
- Strong financial acumen.
- Experience with journey‑based, audience‑first marketing, e‑commerce platforms, operational and analytics data platforms, personalization and content marketing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including presentation, influencing and negotiation skills with the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with multiple deliverables and ad hoc requests.
- Demonstrated experience in general management, team member development, leadership, organizational skills, and managing/setting priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to make effective decisions while working through complex issues, program, and business interest related issues.
- Well‑developed critical thinking and communication skills (written and oral).
