- Execute MRP and translate its output into actionable production plans, ensuring materials, labor, and equipment are aligned to support customer commitments.
- Create, release, and maintain production jobs in the ERP system, incorporating updates related to change controls, deviations, and shifting priorities.
- Analyze capacity constraints, run times, WIP levels, and resource availability to build realistic, efficient, and forward-looking production schedules.
- Assign and adjust manufacturing timelines to ensure all orders meet required customer delivery dates, communicating changes proactively to key stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with Customer Service, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Production leadership to resolve schedule conflicts, material gaps, and delivery risks.
- Monitor bulk and WIP inventory, determining optimal sequencing to minimize waste, maximize efficiency, and accelerate throughput.
- Lead daily production scheduling meetings, providing clear direction, surfacing bottlenecks, driving accountability, and enabling real-time decision-making.
- Investigate and resolve order discrepancies, MRP-related issues, and data inconsistencies; implement corrective and preventive actions to strengthen planning accuracy.
- Manage and support cross-functional improvement initiatives aimed at increasing scheduling accuracy, reducing cycle times, and improving operational reliability.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing environment (contract manufacturing experience strongly preferred).
- Advanced proficiency in MRP/ERP systems with the ability to analyze planning data, troubleshoot errors, and optimize workflows.
- Strong Excel capabilities, including data modeling, pivot tables, advanced formulas, and schedule analysis.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional meetings, influence decision-making, and communicate clearly across all levels of the organization.
- Exceptional project management, organizational, and prioritization skills with the ability to balance long-range planning with urgent, day-to-day scheduling requirements.
- Ability to navigate rapidly changing conditions, manage competing priorities, and maintain a high level of accuracy under pressure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, critical thinking, and process improvement skills.
