Sun Chemical is hiring: Production Operator in Minneapolis

Shift: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm, Monday‑Friday (2nd shift). Hourly Rate: $21.00/hour.

Job Overview
In this role your primary responsibility is to produce high quality inks for our customers. You will learn all of the processes and equipment, and use our PLC‑driven HMI to produce high quality ink via batch tickets, ensuring the best quality product on time while practicing safety as a top priority.

Essential Job Functions

• Review batch tickets – read, understand and follow.
• Provide samples to lab.
• Pack product into designated containers and label them.
• Report near‑miss incidents and improvement opportunities.
• Perform equipment and plant cleaning and waste disposal.
• Operate forklift.
• Use SAP for inventory.
• Operate and troubleshoot mixing equipment.
• Combine ingredients in designated sequence.
• Train others.
• Perform preliminary quality checks.
• Wear appropriate PPE at all times and maintain a clean work area.
• Participate actively in all plant safety initiatives, programs and training sessions.
• Adhere to standard operating procedures.

Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED preferred, or pass a pre‑employment screening assessment.
• Experience with quality control and safety procedures.
• Capable of repeatedly lifting 55 lbs. and standing for long periods of time.
• 1+ year of experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
• Experience with mixing, measuring and/or weighing.

Preferred Experience

• 1+ years of experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
• Experience with batch manufacturing.
