*Job Description:*
Serve as the instructor of record for all lectures, laboratory, and clinical instruction in the surgical technology program. Mentor students, ensuring they meet course objectives and develop practical skills. Prepare and provide all instruction according to the required curriculum. Monitor student attendance and provide timely feedback on performance. Develop individualized success plans for at risk students. Maintain professional relationships with faculty, administration, and the community. General Faculty Responsibilities: Communicate effectively with students and staff, providing consistent feedback. Be accessible for academic assistance through various channels. Collaborate with faculty and administration to address student performance concerns. Maintain professionalism in communication, behavior, and appearance.
*Requirements:*
_*Must be a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Minimum of 4 years of work experience in the field. Must have an Associate's degree or higher. Licensed MBSTSA or NCCT preferred.*_ Teaching background is a plus; dynamic lecture ability is essential. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Proficient in written and spoken English.
*Responsibilities:*
· Teach theoretical and practical courses in Surgical Technology, including sterile technique, surgical procedures, instrumentation, and perioperative patient care.
· Develop and revise course materials, lesson plans, and assessments that align with program objectives and accreditation requirements.
· Provide instruction in classroom, lab, and simulated surgical environments. Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, and skills checklists.
· Evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.
· Assist in the preparation and maintenance of lab equipment and supplies.
· Stay current with trends and advancements in surgical technology and incorporate them into instruction.
· Collaborate with faculty and the clinical coordinator to ensure cohesive curriculum delivery and clinical preparedness.
· Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum development, accreditation processes, and professional development.
· Support student retention, graduation, and certification exam success. Complete additional tasks assigned by the Program Director.
