*Position Overview:*
We are seeking a qualified and passionate Mental Health Therapist to provide essential therapeutic services to residents in skilled nursing facilities, long-term care facilities, and related settings. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the well-being of individuals who often face complex emotional, psychological, and cognitive challenges.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions tailored to the unique needs of the residents. * Perform diagnostic assessments, including Alzheimer's screening, cognitive assessments, and psychological evaluations. * Develop and implement behavior management interventions and strategies for managing pain. * Support residents in adjusting to facility life and addressing grief, loss, or other emotional challenges. * Collaborate with facility staff, families, and other healthcare providers to coordinate care and develop comprehensive treatment plans. * Provide training and education for facility staff on behavioral health strategies and care best practices. * Maintain compliance with facility, state, and federal regulations, ensuring alternatives to psychotropic medications and restraints are prioritized.
*Required Qualifications:*
* Masters degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy. * Active Ohio licensure as one of the following: LMFT/LPCC/:LISW * Strong understanding of the mental health needs of elderly and subacute populations. * Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. * Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
*Preferred Qualifications:*
* Experience working in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar settings. * Knowledge of dementia care and behavior management techniques. * Willingness to travel up to 45 minutes.
