Mechanical AI&T Engineer
to join their team.
Job Title :
Mechanical AI&T Engineer
Location: Northridge, CA
Contract
Key job responsibilities :
•
Generate detailed designs via CAD systems and engineering drawings with appropriate geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
•
Support space hardware qualification/acceptance campaigns including:
o
Deliver well-written test plans, procedures, and reports
o
Design of test fixtures
o
Assembly and build of test/flight hardware
•
Develop space hardware assembly build procedures
•
Perform mechanical builds of prototype or space hardware
•
Experience working with cross functional teams and a strong ability to collaborate.
Basic qualifications:
•
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Structural, and Aeronautical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience
•
3+ years of experience with Siemens NX CAD package (Siemens NX, NX Teamcenter, GD&T per ASME y14.5)
•
3+ years of experience in space hardware assembly, integration and test
•
Familiar with mechanical test instrumentation such as thermocouples, RTDs, accelerometers, etc.
•
Familiar with mechanical assembly, typical assembly tools, and space hardware build best practices
Preferred qualifications:
•
Master's or PhD degree in Mechanical, Structural, and Aeronautical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience
•
Track record of successfully delivering compelling written reports and complete designs on time, to scope, with high quality
•
5+ years of experience with Siemens NX CAD package (Siemens NX, NX Teamcenter, GD&T per ASME y14.5)
•
5+ years of experience in space hardware assembly, integration and test
•
Space hardware thermal vacuum test experience
•
Space hardware vibration test experience
•
Solid understanding of design for manufacturing methods
•
Data analysis/processing capabilities
•
High sense of ownership, urgency, and drive; resourceful, and able to deliver results with minimal direction
•
Excellent oral and written communication skills
•
Experienced with Issue tracking applications (JIRA, TRAC)
•
Demonstrated experience working with government agencies
