This is a full-time position focused on phlebotomy and plasmapheresis operations within a plasma donation center.
What You’ll Do Ensure total operation is compliant with state and federal regulations (e.g., FDA approved Standard Operating Procedures, OSHA, CLIA, and GMP) to maintain the highest production standards and facility compliance.
Maintain a high level of customer service and a positive donor experience in line with company values and culture.
Keep the work area clean to ensure a clean and professional environment.
Review and confirm donor identification and maintain donor confidentiality per Standard Operating Procedures.
Set up and prepare all equipment and disposable supplies for venipuncture and plasmapheresis procedure.
Label and ensure each unit and samples are labeled accurately.
Execute venipunctures and plasma collection, maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Operate automated plasmapheresis machines, including response and evaluation of machine alarms and alerts, donor adverse events, and document exceptions.
Monitor donor conditions, ensuring donor comfort, safety, and plasma product quality.
Maintain proper ratio to ensure donor safety and product quality.
Disconnect donor and manage disposal of biohazard waste and contaminated equipment per safety protocols, including cleaning spills and disposing of biohazardous waste as required.
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly calibration/maintenance of plasmapheresis machines and replace equipment from service as needed.
Maintain accurate records, including Plasmapheresis Machine Logs.
Report unsafe situations to management and keep inventory stocked on plasma carts.
Drive training efficiencies to ensure timeliness and compliance.
Troubleshoot machine alarms/alerts and perform quality checks on equipment.
Perform other job-related tasks as assigned while upholding high standards of service and safety.
What It Takes High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
Any state-required certification or licensing.
Minimum three (3) months’ experience in a medical or health care environment or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
Documentation of training appropriate for duties prior to performing duties independently.
Strong customer service and effective communication skills.
Ability to follow written and verbal protocol and basic computer skills.
Ability to perform accurate documentation and read safety and operating manuals.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with interruptions; reliable attendance and flexibility with schedule.
Ability to perform venipuncture.
Ability to work daytime and evening hours, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as required.
Physical Requirements Sit or stand for extended periods; lift up to 35 pounds; bend, stoop, or kneel.
Use required PPE; exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
Visual duties with computer screens; temperature environment as required by SOPs.
Perform precise, repetitive motor tasks; mobility and communication accommodations as needed.
