What You’ll Do
As a Recreation Specialist for HELP USA's
new
Brooklyn, New York family shelter, you will work under the supervision of the Recreation Coordinator and with school-age children living in our shelter, and lead them in developmentally appropriate activities. You’ll also participate in community outreach to obtain in-kind donations, service linkages, and other resources for the children in our program.
Some of the activities you’ll lead are:
STEM projects.
Arts and Crafts.
Homework help and education support.
Development of life skills.
Your responsibilities will include
Maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all participants in recreational activities.
Performing other duties as assigned by supervisory staff.
You’re a great fit for this role if you:
They are creative, responsible, patient, kind, and caring.
Enjoy working with children.
Have strong organizational and time management skills.
Have a valid US driver’s license.
Have an Associate’s degree.
Compensation Actual compensation will not be less than the applicable minimum wage, prevailing wage, or exempt salary requirements under federal, state and local laws.
