For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $161,000 - $241,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.
Main mission
ELECTRA program is a common initiative from Power Products and Power Systems Divisions, intended to shape the future of electrical power distribution architectures in strategic industrial and building segments such as Petro-chemical, Water and Waste Water treatment, waste recovery, Mining, metallurgy, Motor management, Hotels, Hospitals, etc. To reinforce its positioning on the North and South America market we are looking for a Senior power systems architect for heavy industry and water-waste-water applications.
Functions of the Senior Systems Architect
Business support:
Elaborate state-of-the-art and optimized power system architectures to reinforce Schneider Electric competitiveness in business projects
Engage high level discussions with customers to capture expressed and unexpressed needs
Strategy and offer support:
Identify new opportunities for evolutions of the product portfolio, in LV, MV products, equipment and power conversion
Influence:
Support our most valuable customers and ecosystem partners in prioritized technical investigations with expertise in power systems design, equipment sizing, power quality impacts, protection, products and equipment
Create highly valuable content to promote & prescribe through workshops & trainings SE solutions and competencies (white papers, webinars, conference papers)
Knowledge sharing
Upon request from segments organize and deliver technical support and trainings to internal sales and tendering organization
When appropriate support the partner ecosystem, particularly design firms on the target segments, typically trainings and webinars
Application knowledge
Expected basic understanding of the principle industrial processes in Petro-chemical and waste-water treatment, and key performance indicators, constraints, operation, customer roles & responsibilities
When relevant, ability to interact on technology innovation by experimentations with customers and technical investigations (modeling, simulation of specific components and behaviors)
Power Systems expertise
Contribute to the definition of optimized and competitive MV/LV power systems architecture based on Schneider Electric offer capabilities and contribute to the definition of innovative electrical distribution architectures of the future
Strong knowledge in power systems engineering (network simulation, protection, AC & DC power electronics conversion, power quality)
Very good knowledge of SE offers (MV, LV, monitoring & control, relays) and familiar with the basic renewable energy sources (PV and solar)
BA/BS degree in Engineering or the equivalent of 15+ years of experience in electrical industry application development
5+ years experience in electrical system design
3+ years working in industrial or building applications
Professional Engineering (PE) license strongly preferred
PhD in Engineering preferred
Strong written, verbal, and visual communication and presentation skills required
Willingness and ability to develop and elaborate technical communication materials to promote Schneider Electric solutions emphasizing on differentiation and customer benefits
