The Chief Financial Officer for the south region will serve as a strategic partner to south region executives, having responsibility for the financial direction and oversight of the region. Under the guidance of the system CFO, the team-oriented executive will collaborate with the north region CFO, FP&A and corporate finance to ensure alignment across the finance function with an aim of delivering a cohesive experience for operational partners.
The current supported scope for this role includes hospitals, imaging, lab, pharmacy, rehabilitation, ASCs, and physician practice related services within the south region as well as the joint ventures and strategic partnerships connected to those environments. Additionally, this leader will serve as the primary finance point of contact for the Froedtert ThedaCare strategic partnership with the Medical College of Wisconsin on south region matters (i.e. CIP/funds flow/joint practice).
Responsibilities
define financial objectives of the region and create a climate of accountability;
ensure alignment of operating and capital budgets with system’s strategies, goals, and objectives;
recruitment, development, and retention of staff;
design and implementation of financial reporting packages and high impact analytics;
compliance with standard accounting principles and legal/regulatory requirements;
coordination of the financial planning cycle and corrective action plan implementation; business plan development;
financial oversight of joint ventures/relationships;
oversight and administration of the physician compensation plans;
continued maturation of the practice analytics program; and patient experience.
Qualifications EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: A minimum of 10 years of progressive responsibility in a Finance function; with 5 years of formal senior level leadership experience in a healthcare industry setting is required.
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: None.
EDUCATION REQUIRED: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field is required.
EDUCATION PREFERRED: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
