Hardware Display Engineer Location: Sterling Heights, MI, United States Category: Engineering Job Type: Full-Time Remote Work Options: On-Site Security Clearance Required: Must be able to obtain security clearance Career Level: Mid-Career Requisition ID: 17162858 About the Role The Electrical Hardware Display Engineering Specialist will use engineering principles to design solutions for complex problems. Focus areas include Display LRU (Line Replaceable Unit) design and SRU (Shop Replaceable Unit) electrical design. What We Offer Healthcare including medical, dental, vision Competitive base pay 401(k) Match 6% 9/80 Work Schedule (every other Friday off) Hybrid work schedule may be available On-going learning opportunities Onsite cafeteria, remodeled fitness center, outdoor fitness track Responsibilities Design and develop electrical components and subsystems for display products Support concept to production hardware including requirements analysis, electronic design, debug, test, and qualification Lead design, development, and test of electronic hardware products, components, and subsystems Develop detailed circuit board specifications, LRU level specifications, ICDs, and test plans Support component selection, procurement, and oversight of prototype hardware build Develop engineering design fixes and coordinate solutions Develop concepts to support advanced technology initiatives, IRADS, proposals, and demonstrators Maintain record keeping of design changes, debug status, hardware and software revisions Knowledge and experience in display technologies (LCD, OLED, LED) required Hands‑on experience in display metrology methods and equipment Experience with display technologies and video distribution techniques preferred LED bezel design experience Ruggedization of display LRUs Touch screen technology interface Head mount display (HMD) experience Display metrology/measurements experience Knowledge in LCD backlight design and characterization Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; other technical degrees considered with relevant experience 5+ years of experience in display design or related positions Familiarity with military standards and test requirements preferred Ability to use engineering development and test tools Must meet ASR requirements to work inside vehicles Capable of obtaining a security clearance Occasional overtime and weekend hours may be required Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with interdisciplinary teams Strong multitasking skills Additional Information / Desired Experience Eligibility to obtain a US security clearance required (non‑US citizens may not be eligible) Previous experience working on ground combat vehicles desired Must be able to climb on/off, work in, and work around military vehicles; ASR test required Continuous improvement processes and methodologies preferred; strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills required Must be able to work occasional evening and/or weekend overtime as required Familiarity with military standards and test requirements desired Equal Opportunity Employer General Dynamics Land Systems is an equal opportunity employer and provides all persons with equal opportunity and access to all aspects of the employment process, without regard to race, color, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, marital status, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected class.
