SAP ABAP HR Developer
Location:
New York City, NY
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop and support ABAP programs for SAP HCM / HR modules
Develop reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements and forms (RICEF)
Work on HR-specific objects including: Infotypes; Payroll schemas and PCRs (supporting role); Time Management enhancements
Develop ALV reports, BDCs, BAPIs, RFCs and IDocs
Implement user exits, BAdIs and enhancements related to HR
Support HR processes such as Personnel Administration, Organizational Management, Payroll and Time Management
Collaborate with functional consultants to gather and understand business requirements
Perform unit testing, debugging and performance tuning
Provide production support and resolve HR-related SAP issues
Prepare technical documentation and follow SAP best practices
Required Skills & Qualifications
6 years of experience as an SAP ABAP Developer
Strong hands‑on experience with SAP ABAP HR / HCM
In-depth knowledge of HR Infotypes and data structures
In-depth knowledge of Logical databases (PNP / PNPCE)
Experience with Classical & Interactive ALV
Strong debugging and performance optimization skills
Experience working in SAP ECC and / or S/4HANA
Good communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have Skills
Experience with SAP HANA (CDS Views, AMDP basics)
Exposure to SuccessFactors integrations
Experience in government or public sector projects
SAP ABAP or HCM certification
Knowledge of HR forms (SmartForms / Adobe Forms)
Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field (preferred)
