Defined Benefit (DB) Services provides actuarial and administration services to clients whose objective is to provide an integrated retirement plan experience. The Defined Benefits Analyst will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and delivering DB services to self-employed individuals and small businesses; producing regular deliverables, handling special requests and responding to prospects’ and clients’ questions related to the DB plans.
What you will do:
Consult with prospective and ongoing clients and advisors
Prepare and peer review annual actuarial reporting and contribution estimates
Prepare and peer review government forms filings for both ongoing and terminating plans (e.g. Form 5500, Schedule SB, Annual Funding Notice, PBGC Premium, IRS Form 5310, PBGC Form 500)
Develop/review individual participant benefit calculations and distribution paperwork
Prepare and review plan documents, plan amendments, and employer resolutions
Apply specialized knowledge, skills, and experiences within this area of expertise to resolve a wide range of issues and influence others to take action
Employ good judgment in selecting methods to solve problems

Required Qualifications:
Desire to make a significant contribution to the success of Schwab’s products
Team mentality, with willingness and ability to contribute at all levels of service delivery
Good oral and written communications skills
Ability to rapidly learn broad range of skills, processes and become a DB subject matter expert
Ability to think differently and to continuously improve the delivery of services
Good organizational skills, shows attention to detail
Computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Pro
Degree(s) in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Math or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in retirement plan and/or defined benefit services
Current ASPPA designation, or other industry designation that demonstrates relevant retirement plan continuing education.
