Position Overview The position is responsible for managing Capital Health's annual fundraising special events and projects, as well as volunteer support for such events and projects, to include “signature events” and grateful patient engagement events. Engages current and potential donors in advancing Capital Health's programs and services through its special events and projects. Secures new donor support from community and the Capital Health, while engaging current and potential donors to advance Capital Health's programs and services through its annual and reoccurring events. Must be able to meet deadlines, balance several projects at once and work collaboratively with department subcommittees.
Education Minimum requirements
Experience Bachelor's Degree required in business, communications, or marketing preferred. Minimum of five years related experience or a related field including experience with event coordination and management. Demonstrated ability to leverage events sponsorships. Experience in healthcare or non-profit environment preferred.

Knowledge And Skills High attention to detail and deadlines. Ability to work on several projects at once and respond to shifting priorities. Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and verbal communication skills. Strong contract negotiation, project management, problem-solving and listening skills are necessary.
Special Training Experience with Microsoft Office suite, virtual conference platforms, and familiarity with Raiser's Edge (relationship database).

Ability to handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines and use technology to gather, interpret, organize and present data. Essential Functions
Oversees the planning, management and coordination of all events hosted by the Foundation for the healthcare system to include the Dr. Abraham George Memorial Golf Tournament, the Chairman's Reception, the Circle of Care Reception, campaign cultivation events, and grateful patient engagement events, as well as other events and projects identified throughout the calendar year.
Oversees a budget of $500,000+ in the planning, management and execution of special events and projects with the foundation and on behalf of the system.
Manages the collaborative work of various Capital Health department subcommittees to plan and execute all aspects of special events and projects, as well as serves as a liaison between Capital Health and event‑related contacts, including, but not limited to venue contacts (event management, audio visual, food/beverage, etc.) and event support vendors (photographer, entertainment, etc.).
Manages the day‑to‑day development of events and projects execution plan(s) with input from department subcommittees.
Oversees and manages all event‑related collateral material development/printing in collaboration with Capital Health marketing and department subcommittees.
Develops comprehensive promotional invitation/brochure/flyer driving participation and attendance, including direct mail (invitations/save the dates), digital marketing (website, email, social media, etc.) and other relevant communication platforms.
Leads on‑site day‑of‑event management for each event and project, including troubleshooting issues in real‑time, development of staff coverage plans and execution of collateral distribution.
Develops and manages the identification, recruitment, and training of events and projects volunteers in support of Capital Health's various “friend” and fundraising efforts.
Provides any and all assistance to special events and projects committees for planning of such events/projects and not limited to the recruitment, assignment, solicitation and follow‑up activities.
Manages the coordination, with the Database Specialist, maintaining confidential and comprehensive database information for all giving/stewardship purposes.
Assists with daily gift processing to ensure accurate, timely recording and appropriate acknowledgement.
Oversees and facilitates the annual golf tournament committee comprised of internal and external stakeholders.
Prepares and produces event timelines, committee reports and agendas, meeting arrangements and correspondence.
Develops event budgets and monitors income and expenditures for each event. Provides written, detailed budget reports as requested.
Provides leadership and management of event statistics, including reports, charts and tables when appropriate; maintains updated calendar of all events and provides details as required.
Oversees donor recognition process related to the Capital Health's special events and projects in recognition of volunteers.
Oversees, as needed, with entry of information into Raiser's Edge such as new records, donor/prospect information, meeting and contact notes, and produces various tracking reports, as requested.
Available to work nights and weekends, as needed, for events/projects execution.
Serves as a community ambassador to foster partnerships with local businesses and other groups interested in supporting Capital Health's programs and services.
Performs other development tasks as assigned by the Foundation Executive Director.
