Job Overview We have an immediate opening for an experienced remote insurance defense or general liability attorney to join a midsized firm that defends businesses and individuals for insurance defense, toxic tort, transportation litigation, products liability, medical malpractice, and catastrophic tort litigation claims. The role is fully remote, requiring attorneys who work autonomously and develop case strategies through all stages of litigation with significant experience in discovery and law‑and‑motion practice.
Responsibilities
Independently manage cases from inception to close.
Attend case‑related conferences and meetings remotely.
Analyze client needs and opportunities, identify solutions, and develop case strategies.
Argue motions in court on behalf of clients during legal proceedings.
Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, briefs, and motions.
Effectively communicate with partners, associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure client outcomes are achieved.
Represent clients in all stages of civil litigation, including pre‑trial preparation, discovery, settlement negotiations, trial, and appeals.
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and settlement agreements.
Advise clients on their legal rights and obligations.
Collaborate with the team of attorneys to develop and implement effective legal strategies.
Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents.
Uphold the highest standards of professional conduct and ethical practice at all times.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney focused on civil litigation.
Proven track record of successfully managing and driving civil cases from start to finish.
Excellent legal research, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Strong negotiation skills, with a proven ability to achieve favorable settlements for clients.
High level of professionalism and integrity, with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of legal practice.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in using legal research tools and software.
Willingness and ability to stay up‑to‑date with changes in relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents.
