Software Applications Developer Overview

We’re on the hunt for a passionate and innovative software developer to play a key role in supporting the university’s Public Policy Research Institute (PPRI), working on the Texas Indigent Defense Commission (TIDC) and Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority (MVCPA) projects. As a Software Applications Developer you will collaborate with end users throughout the entire development process, spanning from conceptualization and application deployment to ongoing maintenance and support. Responsibilities

Design, implement, test, and maintain web-based applications. Provide technical assistance to customers. Document system procedures and guidelines. Actively participate in quality assurance. Participate in collaborative team software design. Meet with customers and technical staff to determine needs and requirements. Engage in IT trainings and professional development activities. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 3 years of software development experience. Ability to work in a collaborative team environment. Strong interpersonal skills. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to maintain the security and integrity of critical infrastructure. Preferred Skills

Advanced skills in ASP.NET C#, PHP/Laravel, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Advanced database design, querying, and administration with Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL. Advanced client relations skills. Quality Assurance experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience with version control systems such as GitHub. Responsive web design best practices. What to know

Salary: $60,000 Location: In-person role in College Station, Texas Schedule: May require working outside of standard office hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Citizenship: Must be a United States citizen. Apply
