Job Description Visa’s Technology Organization is a community of problem solvers and innovators reshaping the future of commerce. We operate the world’s most sophisticated processing networks capable of handling more than 65k secure transactions a second across 80M merchants, 15k Financial Institutions, and billions of everyday people. While working with us you will get to work on complex distributed systems and solve massive‑scale problems centered on new payment flows, business and data solutions, cyber security, and B2C platforms.

As a Sr. Software Engineer you will be part of our Shared Service & Cloud Enablement portfolio team within Acceptance Solutions org to help design, enhance and build our transactional platform in an agile development environment. You will play a key role on the Shared Services team tasked with multiple projects ranging from full‑stack development of real‑time transactional services, REST API, container‑based services to highly functional, secure, scalable and resilient real‑time payment systems. You will work on development, unit testing, code reviews and regular check‑ins to continuous integration that will become part of your DNA. You will see the code written and moved to production within just a few days to a week, to then be used by a huge customer base including Facebook, Nike, FedEx, Apple, State Farm and many more.

Essential Functions

You will help our customers achieve their real goals by understanding their requirements and how they respond to their business needs.

You will use technologies that include Java, REST, SQL, NoSQL, Docker and more.

You will analyze business requirements and architect a solution that is robust and scalable.

You will provide technical documentation of the solution.

You will leverage new technologies to build the next generation of transactional systems.

You will develop and deliver new features every few days and be responsible for them end‑to‑end.

You have the work and academic experience that will demonstrate proficiency and ease with programming languages, code quality initiatives, scripting languages and operating systems.

You have experience in commercial software development on Unix/Linux environments.

You have experience in consumer‑facing application development.

You have an amazing work ethic that will help us all work extremely well together.

Qualifications Basic Qualifications • 2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD, PhD).

Preferred Qualifications • 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD).

Additional Information This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Travel Requirements:

This position requires travel 5‑10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements:

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY:

The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $123,000.00 to $190,900.00 per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job‑related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off and Wellness Program.
