Position Summary The Operations Manager is responsible for the daily operations of Environmental Services, ensuring and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and consistency throughout all areas of the hospital.
Responsibilities
Maintain effective working relationships with all constituents including administration, team members, providers, patients and vendors.
Identify cost‑effective systems needed to support the Environmental Services department at the facility.
Conduct required one‑on‑one training using approved techniques, procedures and educational materials in the coaching process.
Monitor all employees to evaluate team member performance including technical skills, cleaning and maintenance of hard surface floors, carpeting, walls, windows, stairwells, elevators, automatic door tracks and baseboards.
Proactively identify and prioritize areas that need environmental services attention.
Meet all goals related to Orlando Health strategic pillars, including but not limited to budget, customer experience, quality, and team member engagement.
Demonstrate working knowledge of and lead projects utilizing necessary equipment.
Advise administration, supervisory staff, peer groups and team members on the proper interpretation of various Environmental Health, Safety and Environment of Care policies, procedures and regulations.
Act as a resource and role model for the team.
Evaluate the performance of team members reporting to the position based on organizational, departmental, personal goals and objectives.
Maintain reasonable regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Have a good working knowledge of computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite, Bed Management System, Timekeeping System, or other related computer systems used in daily department functions.
Adhere to all Standards of Precaution, MSDS and Hand Hygiene directives.
Complete patient room cleaning processes utilizing the 7‑step cleaning method when functioning and performing Environmental Housekeeper duties.
Coordinate the removal of regular, recycled and bio‑medical waste.
Complete all mandatory training as designated and required; attend in‑service as required.
Participate in departmental quality assurance and improvement activities as appropriate.
Maintain productivity and volume standards established for the assigned facility.
Keep current with all policies and procedures of the hospital and the department.
Be willing to participate in other related duties not directly assigned.
Qualifications High School Diploma required.
Five (5) years of Environmental Services Leadership experience, preferably in Healthcare.
