Cloud Pre-Sales Engineer (TS/SCI)

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Cloud Pre‑Sales Engineer for a long term position supporting the intelligence community in the DC area. The engineer will be hybrid – mostly remote but will be required to attend client site meetings in Herndon, McLean, and Fort Meade. This is not a hands‑on cloud engineer, this is a consulting Pre‑Sales role supporting multiple government customers in their adoption of cloud services. This position requires an active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain SCI.

Responsibilities

Evaluate client needs and make recommendations for cloud solutions

Provide direction for designing cloud infrastructure capable of supporting government applications, emphasizing scalability, automation, and reliability

Advise clients on cloud option based on specific use cases

Engage with cloud service providers routinely regarding configuration, policy, and controls

Work with defense/intelligence directorates to facilitate migrations from on‑prem/hybrid to cloud solutions

Provide technical expertise on cloud implementations and research emerging trends, implementing solutions for various deployment models including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS

Requirements

Active TOP SECRET clearance with ability to obtain SCI

Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of experience

IAT II Certification (Sec+, CySA+, CCNA‑Security, GICSP, GSEC, CISA, CISM, CISSP, etc.)

Advanced understanding of distributed systems in on‑prem, hybrid, or cloud native computing

Understanding of systems and network infrastructure including AD, DNS, firewalls, etc.

Technical background in cloud engineering

Experience working with microservices, containerization, virtualization, and storage

Compensation

$150,000-160,000 annual salary (depending on experience)
