Building Location: Essentia Health Distribution Center Department: 2047700 LOGISTICS – SMDC HOSP Job Description: Responsible to oversee and enhance the operational performance of the distribution center. This role is responsible for maximizing efficiency across all distribution functions, including space utilization, inbound receiving, transportation (internal and external), inventory replenishment, order fulfillment, and outbound shipping. The ideal candidate will identify bottlenecks, implement solutions, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to ensure seamless logistics operations. Education Qualifications:
Key Responsibilities
Analyze Distribution Center Operations: Evaluate current DC processes, layouts, and workflows to identify areas for improvement
Develop Optimization Strategies: Design and implement strategies to optimize space utilization, inventory management, and labor efficiency
Technology Solutions: Maximize the use of technology solutions, recommend improvements and act as key participant in any future technology selection processes
Monitor Performance Metrics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track improvements and ensure goals are met
Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with DC staff, management, automation vendor, and other departments to ensure seamless implementation of optimization initiatives
Conduct Training: Provide training and support to DC personnel on new processes and technologies
Ensure Compliance: Ensure all DC operations comply with safety regulations and company policies
Education Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Transportation, Logistics, or Business
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years in a warehouse or distribution center in a similar role
Expertise and experience in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and planning systems required
Strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams
Experience with Lean, Six-Sigma process improvement methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years in a warehouse / distribution center in a similar role
Experience with demand planning, transportation planning, and reporting platforms preferred.
Experience with automated warehouse systems including ASRS, conveyor systems and mobile device technology
Certificate in Lean or Six-Sigma
Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified Logistics, Transportation, Distribution (CLTD), Certified Warehouse Logistics Professional (CWLP)
