Role & Responsibilities
Move product from packaging lines to the appropriate trailer or staging area.
Organize product staging areas and lanes to facilitate efficient loading.
Load products onto trailers, ensuring proper stacking and preventing shipment of damaged goods.
Remove out-of-code products, check date and price codes regularly and label accordingly.
Keep truck and dock areas clean and organized.
Serve as a break person for other shipping employees on various lines and/or platforms.
Work on the platform, including unloading in-bound products.
Complete paperwork (load sheets, block sheets) with accuracy and neatness.
Perform trailer checks, including sweeping and checking for damage, and submit information to the department manager.
Inform supervisors of the floor inventory of empty trays and equipment.
Communicate with packaging employees to ensure accurate product counts on each truck, reconciling trailer paperwork to packaging wrap sheets.
Safety
Maintain a safe working environment by following safety guidelines and reporting incidents.
Promote employee safety in all areas of operations.
Sanitation
Maintain cleanliness of the work area.
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Requirements & Physical Demands
Able to count and perform basic math.
Able to read and comprehend department materials and load sheets.
Capable of lifting or maneuvering up to 50 pounds.
Able to stand for long periods.
Able to reach approximately 7 feet high to move product.
Physically capable of moving to all areas of the plant.
Able to view products and determine adherence to quality control standards.
Able to read, comprehend, and practice safety procedures, signs, etc.
Perform other duties deemed integral by management.
