Job Title: Traveling Assistant Project Manager (Pacific West)
Job Description:
We are currently seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support project managers on complex industrial projects and independently manage smaller assignments. This role serves as a liaison between clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with safety and quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
Coordinating project activities, maintaining document control, and managing databases
Assisting with RFP development, bid processes, and scope of work documentation
Managing contractor submittals, RFIs, design instructions, and site drawing logs
Monitoring contractor compliance with safety, quality, and environmental programs
Supporting project controls: cost reporting, scheduling, WBS setup, and progress tracking
Preparing internal/external reports: budgets, forecasts, and status updates
Participating in risk reviews and contract closeout
Promoting and managing Safety & Health performance across project teams

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
4+ years of relevant experience in heavy industrial projects
Field experience and strong safety/health performance background
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Primavera Contract Manager or similar software preferred
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and work overtime when needed
Collaborative mindset for multi‑discipline project teams
Nice-to-Haves:
Transmission line (T‑Line) project experience
Familiarity with change management software
Work Environment:
Heavy travel (up to 100%) – typically full‑time on‑site for each project about 6–12 months with per diem
Projects concentrated in the Northwest region
Travel schedule: 2 weeks on‑site followed by a 4‑day weekend
30 remote/work‑from‑home days per year
Base office in Vancouver, WA
Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Vancouver, WA.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $170000.00/yr.
