DSHS HCLA Social and Health Program Consultant 4 Are you passionate about supporting social services staff and ensuring the highest quality of care for our community? Join our Home and Community Living Administration as we improve long‑term care services through consultation, training, and quality assurance. Take the next step in your career and help shape the future of long‑term care services in our region. In this role, you’ll provide training, consultation and support to regional social services staff and conduct quality assurance audits of their work. You’ll assist in the development of plans to address deficiencies identified through the auditing process and provide necessary training. This job includes a flexible office location anywhere in King, Snohomish, Skagit or Whatcom counties, and requires regular travel across these counties to support onboarding and training of new and existing social services staff.

Some Of What You’ll Do

Plan, lead, develop, and manage long‑term care development projects in the region.

Provide training and systems support for new and existing social services staff throughout the region.

Conduct regional quality assurance review activities and identify areas of deficiency and subsequent training needs; develop training to remedy identified issues.

Develop, coordinate, and provide technical consultation and training to ensure compliance with program requirements, policies, and procedures.

Participate on task forces, committees, and workgroups to provide program information and consultation services related to long‑term care services.

Provide case staffing and reviews with field staff and managers.

We’re Looking For Those With

Bachelor’s degree in social work, health or social science, public administration or a related field, and 5 years of professional experience in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health or chemical dependency treatment services programs.

Master’s degree in social work, health or social science, public administration or a related field, and 4 years of professional experience in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health or chemical dependency treatment services programs.

One year of experience as a Social and Health Program Consultant 3 or equivalent.

Two years of experience as a Social and Health Program Consultant 2 or equivalent.

The Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work must be from an educational program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

Desired

Knowledge of Medicaid LTC related policies and procedures; ability to interpret and apply laws and regulations into training and consultation provided to social services staff.

Knowledge of programs administered by the DSHS Home and Community Living Administration that may affect our client population.

Knowledge of current training methods and techniques for adult learners.

Experience regarding the CARE Tool, LTC Quality Assurance process, and ProviderOne systems.
