Melita is a Payroll, Benefits and HR outsourcing company serving mid‑sized businesses across the U.S. and internationally. We are seeking an experienced payroll professional for a 6‑month contract engagement with one of our large clients. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience as a payroll professional and must have experience processing payroll on the ADP Workforce Now platform. This is a full‑time contract position with an expected term of 6 months and a possible opportunity for a full‑time permanent position, reporting to the client’s Senior Manager of Payroll.

This position will be hybrid (on‑site in Redwood City 3 days/week, remote 2 days/week).

Job Responsibilities

Processing of full‑cycle weekly payrolls using ADP Workforce Now, including regular, off‑cycle, and special payroll runs

Review and validate payroll data for accuracy, including hours worked, earnings, deductions, taxes, garnishments, and benefit deductions

Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, tax notices, and employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner

Coordinate with HR, Benefits, and Client Services teams to ensure payroll data aligns with benefits, leaves of absence, and HR changes

Prepare and reconcile payroll reports, registers, and audit documents

Interact with managers and employees as needed to ensure a high‑quality, error‑free payroll experience

Requirements

5+ years of hands‑on payroll processing experience

Demonstrated experience running payroll in ADP Workforce Now

Strong understanding of wage and hour laws and payroll best practices

High attention to detail and strong numerical aptitude

Familiarity with benefits deductions, garnishments, and leave‑related payroll impacts

Exposure to multi‑state payroll processing
