Vice President, Commercial Relationship Manager California Bank of Commerce is seeking an experienced Commercial Relationship Manager to lead and grow a portfolio of commercial relationships within the Bank’s region.

Job Summary The Commercial Relationship Manager is responsible for creating, developing, and managing a portfolio of commercial relationships within a specified region, providing expert-level advice to customers on opportunities to utilize the Bank’s deposit, loan products, and treasury management services. The role involves business development through a network of COI’s and/or direct solicitation of CRE and C&I financing needs, working independently with minimal oversight.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Advanced credit analysis and underwriting focusing on complex commercial and real estate loans, including construction and participations.

Establish and maintain business relationships with real estate, commercial, and agricultural clients, providing lending expertise and ensuring loan quality.

Ensure credit facilities comply with established policies to maximize volume and profit; assist in growing major customer relationships.

Maintain awareness of bank products, operational systems, and industry trends.

Present credit memoranda to the Loan Committee and assist in portfolio management, qualifying and resolving emerging credit issues.

Assist senior lending officers in client needs, credit quality, and timely provision of services.

Recommend banking products and services to senior officers for existing and potential customers.

Provide referrals to other bankers and schedule appointments as needed.

Address customer and staff inquiries, resolving issues promptly.

Track and share recurring credit analysis issues to improve processes.

Maintain confidentiality on complex and sensitive matters.

Adhere to loan policies, underwriting guidelines, and risk rating system requirements.

Ensure loan documentation compliance and prepare effective credit memoranda.

Analyze financial information, establish appropriate pricing and profitability, and assess financial ratios and trends.

Prepare complete credit write‑ups understandable to non‑specialists.

Complete required reports accurately and on time, assisting staff with delinquencies and loan loss management.

Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and financial spread software (e.g., Cash, Fast, Basis).

Detail‑oriented transaction handling.

Strong organization, written, and verbal communication.

Teamwork orientation and excellent customer service skills.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Three to five years of experience in commercial banking/lending, underwriting, and credit analysis.

Physical Demands Regular use of computer and telephone; occasional standing, walking, and reaching. Accommodations may be provided.

Compensation Pay Range: $112,500 – $150,000 per year. Salary may vary by skills, experience, and location.
