Responsibilities
Assist to manage and supervise up to 15 associates.
Assist the Meat/Seafood Manager with overall direction, coordination, and evaluation.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Harris Teeter’s policies and applicable laws.
Interview and train associates.
Plan, assign, and direct work.
Appraise performance.
Reward and discipline associates.
Address complaints and resolve problems.
Qualifications Personal Skills
Exceptional interpersonal skills.
Willingness to participate in and complete required training.
Ability to work with the team to increase customer satisfaction and sales.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED.
One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
Ability to write simple correspondence in English.
Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates who only speak English.
Computer Skills
Knowledge of HT Internet software, E‑mail, Inventory software, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract two‑digit numbers and multiply and divide with tens and hundreds.
Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability
Apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Complete Company’s training including new hire orientation, food sanitation, customer service network, safety, food safety, and product knowledge.
Physical Demands
Regularly stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, taste or smell. Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Vision requirements: close vision, color, and depth perception.
Work Environment
Cool environment with an average temperature range of 34‑36 °F; frequently exposed to wet/humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and frequent exposure to extreme cold. Noise level usually moderate to loud.
