Responsibilities
Prepare all meals and food for sponsor/family/personal guests, and for all official events.
Manage and coordinate all assigned activities at the sponsor’s official residence, including planning of all representational events, managing the residence calendar, and determining additional staff support requirements as necessary.
Make all arrangements independently for each assigned event and present a finished product; refer only emergency or controversial situations to the sponsor.
Plan and prepare menus, oversee staff performance at events, and be prepared to remedy unexpected emergencies immediately.
Supervise permanent official residence staff and additional staff retained for official events.
Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen at all times.
Schedule household staff leave in consultation with the sponsor; train and instruct staff in assignments for each function; evaluate performance of staff for sponsor.
Budget the sponsor’s personal account (including a current account of the sponsor’s personal expenses for meals) and submit a monthly statement to the sponsor.
Maintain accounting records of all official expenses, draft the annual representational budget, and prepare individual statements of costs and vouchers for each official event.
Oversee the organization of the residence and ensure that the staff maintains that system of organization.
Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the residence, determine repair and maintenance requirements, and schedule repairs and maintenance with the Embassy staff.
Make all arrangements for residence guests, coordinate requirements and transportation, and respond to special requests.
All duties and responsibilities are subject to review and amendment by the DCM.
Must be prepared to work frequently in evenings and on weekends.
Qualifications
University/college studies.
At least three years of professional experience as a cook.
Knowledge of sanitary norms and requirements.
Speaking and reading at a 3/3 level in Russian is required.
Top Secret clearance required.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
