Position Overview A well-established Commercial Construction General Contractor is seeking an experienced Safety Director to lead and elevate its company-wide safety program. This confidential search seeks a key leadership role within a growing organization known for quality projects, long‑term client relationships, and a proactive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and continuously improve company‑wide safety programs and procedures.
Lead safety initiatives across multiple active commercial construction sites.
Conduct jobsite audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
Provide safety training, coaching, and mentorship to project and field teams.
Ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable local/state regulations – investigate incidents and near‑misses; implement corrective actions.
Track and analyze safety metrics to drive continuous improvement.
Serve as the primary safety leader and advocate throughout the organization.
Qualifications
7+ years of construction safety leadership experience with a Commercial General Contractor.
Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety best practices.
Experience managing safety programs for ground‑up commercial projects.
Proven ability to influence safety culture at all organizational levels.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
OSHA 30 required; OSHA 500+510 greatly desired, CSP, CHST, or similar certifications preferred.
