Kforce is seeking a Network Engineer contract to hire with one of our clients in Greenwood Village, CO. This role requires three days onsite. Summary
The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing the technology infrastructure that supports operations across corporate offices, processing facilities, and remote mine sites. Day To Day
Develop and maintain the enterprise network and infrastructure architecture blueprint across data centers, mine sites, and cloud environments Design secure, reliable, and high-availability network solutions (LAN/WAN/MPLS/SD-WAN/VPN) suitable for remote and industrial locations Ensure scalability and redundancy for mission-critical systems supporting operations Collaborate with site technology teams to align IT and OT network architectures Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of the north side of the IT/OT segregated DMZ; maintaining IT network segmentation and cybersecurity standards Experience with firewalls, networking, and server hardware management upgrades as well as resiliency, including RAID controllers, RAM upgrades, power redundancy, automated failover, etc. Oversee the design and governance of server, storage, and virtualization platforms (on-premises and cloud) Partner with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with industry and company standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST) Implement network access control, firewalls, and segmentation strategies to protect critical systems Provide architectural leadership on large-scale IT and infrastructure projects (mine expansion, new site setup, etc.) Serve as escalation point for complex infrastructure and networking issues Work with telecom and service providers to maintain reliable connectivity in remote environments Evaluate and manage technology vendors to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and cost efficiency Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field 8 years of experience in IT infrastructure and network architecture, preferably within the mining, oil & gas, or industrial sectors Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or equivalent enterprise network technologies SD-WAN, VPN, MPLS, and remote site networking VMware, Hyper-V, and/or cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) IT/OT segmentation and secure industrial connectivity Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, especially in cross-functional and remote team environments Compensation
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. Benefits
