Overview The Assurance Experienced Senior will coordinate the day-to-day "in-charge" duties of planning, fieldwork, and wrap-up to include the preparation of financial statements with disclosures, applying GAAP as necessary, and documenting, validating, testing, and assessing various internal control systems. This position also serves as the client contact for basic questions and information and may be involved in reviews and agreed-upon procedure engagements.

Responsibilities

Coordinate planning, fieldwork, and wrap-up activities for audits in accordance with firm policies and timelines.

Prepare financial statements with disclosures and document, validate, test, and assess internal control systems.

Apply generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) as necessary and communicate disclosures to clients.

Act as the client contact for basic questions and information; participate in reviews and agreed-upon procedure engagements as appropriate.

Supervise audit staff, review workpapers and conclusions, and communicate any issues or deficiencies to the engagement team.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or related field; CPA certification is required if the degree is in a non-accounting focus area. Master’s degree in Accountancy is preferred.

Three (3) or more years of prior relevant audit experience and/or public accounting experience; prior basic supervisory experience preferred.

Eligible to sit for the CPA exams upon starting employment; actively pursuing completion of the exams.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with assurance applications and research tools preferred.

Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to develop people and provide coaching; client-facing with executive presence.

Ability to manage all stages of the audit (planning, fieldwork, wrap-up) for complex engagements and prepare and/or review financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
