The above reflects the anticipated annual salary range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Qualifications
Required (APN/NP)
Current APN Certification Current RN NJ state license CDS DEA Current BLS/ACLS RNFA Certification *exception if Surgical NP certification has surgical assist built into program Required (Physician Assistant)
Current Physician Assistant Certification CDS DEA Current BLS/ACLS Preferred
Acute care certification. 3-5 years of acute care hospital experience Scheduling Requirements
Scheduled as needed. (Days, Night Shift, Weekends, Holidays) Essential Functions
Perform history and physical examinations in preparation for surgical procedures. Order appropriate laboratory, radiologic and special diagnostic tests and interpret and report to surgical team. The APP may be asked to see emergent consults in the ED and when appropriate treat conditions within the scope of the APP's practice and experience. Communication of complicated surgical emergencies and appropriate preparation for surgery will also be expected. Assist with inpatient daily rounds as assigned. This can include insertion/discontinuing central lines including but not limited to chest tubes, arterial lines, wound dressing changes, bed side procedure, insertion of temporary dialysis catheters daily physical exams, and addressing any concerns of the patients on the service. Thoroughly explains procedures to patients Thoroughly explains procedures to patients prior to testing Perform appropriate interpretation of laboratory/diagnostic testing Responsible for discharging patients in collaboration with the attending Demonstrates strong organizational skills, communicates effectively and demonstrates time management Performs duties independently and coordinates care with the bedside nurse, attending physician, and other consulting providers. Compassionately interacts with patients across different areas of care
