Responsibilities
Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold throughout the store.
Operate the computer and maintain computerized records.
Execute pricing batches.
Research and correct scanning problems and incorrect prices.
Serve as primary store contact for POS discrepancies.
Communicate all pricing errors and not‑on‑files to Corporate Pricing.
Maintain prices, tags and signs throughout the store for accuracy.
Sort tags and signs by department/aisle and hang price tags and signs throughout the store.
Print and hang shelf tags and display signs in the correct place.
Ensure proper placement of "key buy" tags and signs.
Assist departments with temporary price reductions (TPRs) and missing tags or signs.
Correct problems including missing or damaged tags and discontinued items.
Conduct test scanning audits.
Perform weekly checks of produce shelf pricing and PLU's.
Correct new item discrepancies.
Assist in other duties as assigned.
Report all safety risks or issues, and reinforce safety programs. Follow established departmental and store policies and procedures.
Assist as needed to ensure the success of the store.
Qualifications
At least 18 years of age.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Good listening skills, organizational and time management skills.
Outgoing and friendly personality for attending to customers effectively.
Must be able to work in a solitary condition or with the team, and have the ability to handle pressure efficiently.
Basic knowledge of computer operating systems required.
Proficient user of MS Office (MS Outlook in particular).
A passion for serving people.
Bilingual abilities are a plus.
Physical Demands Perform duties primarily at the back end of the store. Work involves repetitive lifting, repetitive arm and hand movements, moving and lifting product of up to 80 lbs and continuous interaction with vendors, customers, and fellow associates. Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. Frequently required to stand or walk for extended times, up to 8‑10 hours per day.
