Responsibilities
We currently have an exciting opportunity within our Flight Software Design Engineering group for a Missile Flight Software Engineer to support a missile system development program in Huntsville, AL. Assess and/or develop requirements, and design, implement, integrate and test work products. Direct hands‑on development of software in support of real‑time and embedded missile‑related systems. Collaborate daily with GA and customer engineering and program management teams. Provide documentation and make technical presentations as required. Support development, review, and editing of technical documents as required. Perform other duties as assigned or required. Work on a 9x80 schedule with every other Friday off. Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience). May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education. 12+ years experience with a bachelor’s degree, 10+ years with a master’s, or 7+ years with a PhD (or equivalent). US citizenship required; must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance. Strong embedded software development discipline, with experience in embedded C/C++ programming. Experience with custom hardware, reading schematics, and working with hardware designers. Self‑starter capable of researching details of target processor hardware and interfaces. Desired: experience with RTOS, ARM, I2C, SPI, Ethernet, Linux, Visual Studio IDE, missile avionics flight code, software unit/integration/functional testing. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and in a team. Willingness to work extended hours and travel as required. Benefits
