Job Description:
Position: GIS Analyst
Location: Columbia, SC
Years of Exp: 08 Years
Contract Type: C2C/W2
Duration: 12 Months Candidate must be a CURRENT SC resident. No relocation allowed.
Summary The project involves migrating an
Oracle Spatial database (Geomedia)
to a
SQL database
maintained through
ESRI Roads and Highways (on-premise) . The scope includes:
Database conversion
Software upgrade
Ensuring spatial accuracy and system reliability
Daily Responsibilities
Produce digital and hard-copy maps using advanced GIS and mapping tools.
Perform GIS data collection, maintenance, and spatial analysis.
Update and maintain database tables to reflect changes to GIS features.
Perform quality control on new and existing data to ensure accuracy.
Assist in development and maintenance of GIS procedure manuals.
Conduct software/procedure research and testing as assigned.
Perform other related GIS tasks as directed by the manager.
Required Skills
Knowledge and hands‑on experience with GIS/Mapping software & applications
Experience working with spatial databases
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Experience in cartography
Experience with database design
Preferred Skills
ArcGIS Pro
SQL database experience
Experience with
ArcGIS Roads and Highways extension
Education Bachelor’s Degree Preferred Fields: Geography, Computer Science, GIS, or Physical Science
