Primary Talent Partners has a 12‑month contract opening for a UI/UX Engineer in a national energy company, onsite at San Antonio, TX.

Pay: $37.00/hr - $42.00/hr

Contract: 12 months, extensions likely, conversion possible

Type: W-2 (cannot support C2C or visa sponsorship)

Onsite: San Antonio, TX

Summary We are looking for a hands‑on experienced UI/UX Developer/Programmer to drive and advance next‑generation digital workplace technology initiatives. This role leads communication and collaboration with business and technology end users to create and support holistic solutions on high‑visibility ongoing projects.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Research, design, develop, test, build, and coordinate the conversion and/or integration of UX designs into the JavaScript/Java codebase ensuring technical feasibility of UI/UX design standards.

Act as designer‑developer, switching hats in both design and development, as SME assisting with decision‑making on high‑visibility projects.

Create clean semantic HTML markup that passes WCAG, ADA/508 compliance.

Provide development and support to the customer‑facing design system, including new components, defects, accessibility, and page templates.

Collaborate with analysts, developers, and architects for successful implementation and component requirements.

Remain current on UI framework trends and programming techniques and research or recommend new tools and methods.

Design and maintain design files, wireframes, and mock‑ups.

Design and develop UI and UX interfaces; assist with new UI testing or usability reviews.

Hands‑on development on front‑end frameworks (Vue.js, AngularJS, ReactJS, jQuery, etc.).

Provide responsive web app development and support to the design system.

Develop reusable responsive, interactive patterns and code libraries that meet W3 standards for HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.

Collaborate with business analysts, senior developers, and architects for SDLC implementation.

Research, design, develop, test, build, and coordinate conversion of front‑end designs into the JS/Java codebase.

Participate in conceptualizing, prioritizing, and creating strategies for product UX.

Develop well‑structured maintainable code following best practices and industry standards.

Design and develop UI and UX interfaces to meet standards and requirements.

Proficient understanding of cross‑browser compatibility issues.

Minimum Qualifications

High School or GED.

Deep experience in front‑end web application development with strong programming experience in at least one of Java, JavaScript, React, Vue, Angular on LAMP/MEAN/MERN stack.

Experience creating conceptual and detailed design solutions based on end‑user needs.

Knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager, SharePoint, and WordPress CMS (plus).

History of working with cross‑functional teams using Agile/Scrum.

Experience communicating with business and technology users to create holistic solutions.

Skills in Human‑Centered Design (HCD) techniques including design, research, and usability.

Preferred Qualifications

UI/UX design or web developer certifications & training.

Previous experience in the Electric and Gas Utility industry.

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related business degree, or relevant business technical experience.

Exposure to front‑end frameworks (Vue.js, AngularJS, ReactJS, jQuery, etc.).

Experience working within agile ceremonies and methodologies.
