Position Summary The primary function of the operations manager is to successfully manage, administer, and report on all business activities day‑to‑day, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, delivery, inventory accuracy, business metrics, and safety functions. The role focuses on optimizing processes to increase operating efficiency while empowering employees for success and continuously improving service and value levels.
Duties & Responsibilities
Navigate operational demands while communicating internally and ultimately servicing the customer/orders in the best way possible.
Maintain appropriate inventory levels, oversee monthly cycle counting, understand volume‑buy and selling financial operations, and ensure delivery personnel adhere to OSHA and company safety policies. Perform weekly and monthly safety reviews with the Safety Manager and maintain cleanliness of warehouse and yard areas.
Identify and coordinate daily activities of all team members, inspiring productivity, teamwork, safety, quality, and job knowledge.
Collaborate across departments to drive optimal productivity and foster an inclusive environment where diverse backgrounds are respected and valued. Manage performance plans and generate creative solutions to improve processes.
Maintain level of service requirements throughout the process and prepare and track lien releases.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum of 3 years of related work experience
Strong Microsoft Office skills, effective team player and leader, excellent communication, and experience in the construction industry and building materials preferred.
Distribution experience preferred. Core Competencies: trust, integrity, servant leadership, valuing diverse perspectives, and a positive, humble attitude.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, lead, execute, delegate, and collaborate with others at all organization levels.
Ability to self‑manage, show initiative, be proactive, and drive results.
Professional communication both verbally and in writing to coworkers and customers.
Physical Requirements
Occasional movement within the office to access files and equipment.
Ability to operate basic office machinery and communicate accurately with team and management.
Capability to work in office, warehouse, and on job sites.
Required Cognitive Skills
Problem‑solving and task prioritization.
Stress management for deadlines and ongoing projects.
Multitasking and information analysis.
Rapid communication of solutions when problems arise.
Sound judgment and initiative.
