Position Overview
The Buyer position will report to the Purchasing Supervisor and be responsible for supporting facility operations through the procurement of direct materials, source identification and qualification, quoting, negotiation, order entry, order placement, inventory management, expediting, and processing returns. Establishes and maintains solid working relationships with Facility Associates and outside vendors. Consistently produces measurable technical accomplishments.

Responsibilities
Research Potential Vendors – Interviews and confers with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, quality, availability, and delivery schedule.
Execute Orders – Procures raw materials and packaging used in the manufacturing of finished goods using source identification and qualification data for multiple FUJIFILM Group Companies. Utilizing the order entry and order placement systems (multiple SAP clients and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems), expedites orders, and processes returns as needed. Create purchasing documents which include purchase orders, scheduling agreements, and delivery schedules. A broad knowledge of the overall procurement to payment functionality to assist all users (requisitioners, accounts payables, and goods receiving) in the performance of their jobs.
Developing and maintaining an inventory optimization plan.
Recommend direct material purchases based on forecast, production build and existing inventory.
Customer Service – Monitor vendor performance and recommend necessary action to improve performance. Interface daily with internal department customers and external vendors, monitor purchase orders to achieve greatest savings and ensure compliance with rules and regulations. Communicate information relevant to changes in the business and resolve price discrepancies.
Perform expediting function. Interface daily with internal department customers and external vendors and coordinate purchasing data for monthly / daily purchasing reporting. Identify cost savings opportunities. Effectively work with others within the team to achieve team goals. Effectively communicate with co‑workers and supervisor. Cross‑train across all group companies to provide coverage for absences. Perform all additional duties as assigned by the supervisor. Follow all Fujifilm Workplace Guidelines and maintain and adhere to Fujifilm Safety Policies and Procedures.
Lead contract management, including drafting, negotiating, redlining and finalizing agreements with suppliers to ensure compliance and optimal terms.
Oversee procurement responsibilities during supplier and ISO audits.
Collaborate daily with interdepartmental colleagues.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes, optimize efficiency, and promote innovation within the sourcing function.
Performance Milestones Within 6-9 Months
Executing orders in a timely manner, according to KPIs set by the group company supported.
Within 9-18 Months
Perform all job‑related functions with minimal supervision.
Self‑management of all tasks related to the buyer function.
Required Skills / Education
Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years procurement experience in a buyer role.
ERP system experience.
PC skills and appropriate applications.
Strong analytical skills, market knowledge, and ability to identify cross‑company synergies for collaboration efforts.
Expert negotiation skills, with a proven track record of achieving cost savings and value creation.
Demonstrated ability to build strategic supplier relationships, drive supplier performance, and manage supplier contracts effectively.
Proficiency in procurement tools and technologies, such as SAP, Ariba, supplier management systems, and data analytics software.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and project management skills, with the ability to lead projects effectively to ensure requirements are met.
