Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Engineer
to contribute to cutting‑edge R&D programs in a hands‑on laboratory environment, developing innovative solutions that support the intelligence community.
As part of a multidisciplinary team of RF engineers, embedded developers, and security researchers, you will apply deep DSP expertise to reverse engineer real‑world systems, design and implement advanced wireless algorithms, and develop mission‑focused RF applications that deliver meaningful national security impact.
What You Will Do
Analyze system and software requirements to determine design feasibility within performance, schedule, and cost constraints
Design, implement, and optimize digital signal processing algorithms for real‑world wireless systems
Perform signal detection, identification, classification, and decoding of captured waveforms
Develop and evaluate receiver, transmitter, and modem architectures for RF systems
Perform RF signal reception and transmission using common modulation schemes (FSK, PSK, QAM, OFDM, etc.)
Solve complex technical problems in communications, signals collection, electronic warfare, and data processing
Develop experiments and prototypes in laboratory environments using SDR hardware, FPGA development platforms, and RF test and measurement equipment
Contribute subject matter expertise in DSP, Software Defined Radio (SDR), and wireless communications systems
What You Will Need (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline
Minimum of 3 years of hands‑on DSP development experience using Texas Instruments (TI) DSP platforms (e.g., C6000 family or similar), including real‑time signal processing applications
Minimum of 3 years of experience developing DSP and SDR systems in a laboratory environment using SDRs, FPGAs, and RF test equipment
Experience designing and implementing receiver, transmitter, and modem signal chains in cellular, radio, or RF communication systems
Experience with physical layer (PHY) and Medium Access Control (MAC) layer concepts, including waveform processing, synchronization, channel estimation, framing, and link‑level behavior
Minimum of 3 years of experience with one or more modern development languages: C, C++, Embedded C
Familiarity with open‑source signal processing libraries and frameworks
Software‑defined radio expertise, including receiver architectures, channelization, modulation/demodulation techniques, error‑correcting codes, and spectral analysis
Experience implementing DSP algorithms with real‑time or near‑real‑time performance constraints on CPU‑, DSP‑, or FPGA‑based platforms
Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI
Nice If You Have
Demonstrated ability to architect and implement end‑to‑end wireless communication systems with real‑world performance requirements
Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline
Proficiency with SDR and FPGA tools such as GNU Radio, Radio Hacker, GQRX, Vivado, or ModelSim
Experience working alongside experts in antenna design, RF systems, SIGINT processing, communications systems, or hardware prototyping
Experience developing DSP systems across heterogeneous platforms (CPUs, DSPs, FPGAs, GPUs, and SDRs) in Linux environments
Active TS/SCI clearance
Security Clearance
Active Top Secret clearance is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI

The projected salary range listed for this position is annualized. This is a general guideline and not a guarantee of salary. Salary is one component of our total compensation package and the specific salary offered is determined by various factors, including, but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, geographic location, as well as contract specific affordability and organizational requirements.
Salary Range: $154,927 - $232,391 USD
