Project Surveyor
Full-time Licensed Land Surveyor. Must perform a variety of surveying tasks including site and highway construction layout, MDOT design surveys, control surveys, precision industrial surveying, ALTA and topographic surveys.

A Typical Day on the Job
Work field and office using robotic, GPS, and laser scanning hardware/software.
Assist survey crew chief in boundary, topography, ALTA, right-of-way, and construction surveys for public, private, and governmental clients.
Operate and maintain survey equipment, collect field data, perform calculations, and collaborate on projects.
Handle office tasks such as LiDAR processing, GPS/Total Station data processing, client deliverables (reports, maps, quality checks).
Read and comprehend complex instructions and perform complex mathematical computations, including least squares adjustments and data analysis.
Perform physically demanding work in all weather and terrain conditions.
Apply traffic control and safety procedures for various surveying and construction operations.
Read and interpret construction plans.
Develop grade sheets or staking files/CAD models to support construction projects.
Demonstrate professionalism on the job (attire, honesty, respect for property).
Travel locally and nationally ~30% of time; per diem and lodging provided.
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in surveying or related field.
5+ years of surveying experience.
Licensed professional surveyor or ability to become licensed under new guidelines.
Experience on MDOT projects desirable but not required.
